Pink Flamingos Filmmaker John Waters to Judge Video Submissions

St. Petersburg, Florida's Salvador Dalí Museum is sponsoring Double Takes, a contest to find someone who looks the most like the great Spanish Surrealist.


The Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida is seeking participants for Double Takes, its first annual Dalí Look-Alike Contest and Festival. The competition is being staged in conjunction with the museum's special exhibition Dalí & Film (February 8-June 1, 2008).

After submitting the online entry form, continue to participate in two ways.

  • Send the museum a one-minute video submission on DVD, VHS or a CD with your video as a Quicktime file. The deadline is April 20, 2008.
  • Appear as the Spanish Surrealist with a one-minute statement at the museum's Double Takes: Dalí Look-Alike Festival on Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 9:00 PM to 12:00 Midnight.

The application and contest guidelines are on the museum's website.

Filmmaker and celebrity judge John Waters of Pink Flamingos, Polyester and Hairspray fame will select the top three video submissions. Prizes include weekend getaways, Dalí Store gift certificates and family memberships to the museum.
