Bloomberg News reported on February 26, 2008 that Amsterdam's famous Rijksmuseum, whose renovations since December 2003 were scheduled for completion by 2010, will not reopen fully to the public until 2013. The Netherlands' Ministry for Education, Culture and Science reported that Royal BAM Groep NV, Holland's largest architectural firm, proposed an "unacceptable offer" for the rehabilitation of the museum's main building that would have cost $330 million (US). Now the Dutch ministry is accepting new bids from contractors.
