Guy Cogeval, 52, begins his tenure as Director of Paris' Musée d’Orsay on March 7, 2008. The former Director of the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal for nine years replaces Serge Lemoine at the helm of France's bastion of 19th-century art. Cogeval takes over at a time of dramatic increase in visitors to the museum (3.2 million in 2007) and exhibitions (some 16 annually).
